The fourth (4th)
edition of the Global Peace Festival & World Cultures:
« Live Peace » will take place in Saint-Louis (Senegal)
from May 06th to 08th,
2016. These dates have been
chosen as they come right after the national Independence Day.
« Live
Peace » is a great
celebration of art, peace culture,
peace forum and peace camp which assemble all those who
work for peace, peacemakers, youth and world citizens coming together in one
big celebration dedicated to peace and the theme of this year : « Youth and Women in the Post-2015 Development Agenda of the United Nations: Issues,
Challenges and Prospects ». Another aim of
this festival is to contribute to the social-economic and development of Saint-Louis
and its direct Senegal and Africa.
Live Peace Festival is organizing by CODEVA, organization for the « Co-operation,
Development and Action » to build a «bridge» between the world cultures and development and link
Humans.
"Live Peace" is above all a dynamic mindset, an inspiring event, a global
educational movement,
citizen building, diversity of creative
expression, and a new platform and international and community instrument for the promotion of
sustainable peace, a more human
form of international relations, a dialogue cultures and
a resurgence of universal values. It’s the will resulting to traduce an happy
peace initiative in concrete action for become reality and not utopia and have its
mission to alert, awake, educate and mobilize childrens, individuals, families
and communities to build peace together, consoled unity, given hope and promote
sustainable development.
And let’s please not forget to offer Saint-Louis
a chance to build citizen behavior positive change renewal as a counterweight
to permissive society, to create an environmental conscience and develop
sustainable solutions so that it can take the great challenges to society particularly in the better
future for children and environment head-on.
During three (3) days, creative, pedagogical activities and lively
expressions of artistic and culture contributing to the development of a
culture of peace will be accessible to all free of charge. There will be in the program: concerts, performing arts / music, dance, theater, poetry / slam, forums, interactive
workshops, exhibitions, projection of film, hiking, gastronomy, and village of festival:
convivial, mobilization and Information - Education – Communication, sensibilization, space where people
can exchange ideas.
At the crossing of
culture and citizenship for
the chance equality of youth, women
and girls in the areas of development,
Live Peace Festival, this important multi-disciplinary manifestation of discovery or rediscovery of peace initiatives
may once again rejoice in the full participation of children, youth, women,
volunteers, ambassadors of
peace, very important personality, assistance of world artists and will be also a
strong show of force mobilization, coordination
and animation of grass-roots organizations, social
movements, civil society, territorial collectives and the population of Saint
Louis around these principles of
humanity, friendliness, unity, living together in harmony and universal
values (integrity, respect for others in diversity,
mutual understanding, acceptance of
differences, service, human decency ...).
This “Live Peace Festival of
World Cultures, of the universal civilization and the peace forum”, an
original and very special solidarity, humanitarian, educative and citizen event
in Saint-Louis of Senegal, full of symbolic, meaningful, respectful of the
environment and of life from local to global, is just need
a new emergence of
a culture of non-violence, dialogue
between cultures and a citizen
will to freely lunch in the world
universals messages about the aspiration
of humanity for peace.
Building on the
success of its previous editions, this event continue to show its commitment ,vocation
and will reaffirm itself as an annual cultural rallying point which cannot be
overlooked in Saint Louis. This festival is a significant contribution to the new spring for consolidation
of peace, social cohesion and hopefully a better world thanks to a better
understanding of human rights, cultural diversity and the objectives of the
Millennium Development Goals and the post-2015
Development Agenda of the United Nations, concerning
local communities and different sector of society.
So based on the restoration of dialogue between
cultures and civilizations, this historic festival is
meeting points where giving and receiving come together to share a moment of
happiness to live and reconciliation. It wants to offer a new and practical way
to invest in our humanity. In short the organizers of this worthy cultural
event want to give a precious chance to popular festivity, reflection, proposal on what we mean when we talk about peace and pacifism.
